Mansa Julaba Falai Kora was the founder and builder of the fortress of Tambasansang, and the first king of Tambasansang. His kingdom stretched from Suduwol to Helakunda, and later extended to Nyamina Kudang after he married Kuta Baldeh, the princess of Fuladou and the daughter of Musa Mollo Baldeh, the king of Fuladou. Musa Mollo gave part of his kingdom to Falai as dowry.

Falai first fortified the settlement spiritually with 313 spears as a ritual, and then fortified it with a very strong fort. This is where the name Tambasansang came from, which in Mandinka means "spear fence." Mansa Julaba Falai Kora settled in Tambasansang with his family, his brother Tanda Mamudou's family, his griots led by Gikiba Kanuteh and his family, and later joined by Suntu Jalifili Suso. Falai also settled with his artisans (Karankehlu), who were led by Yoromamba Sillah and his slaves
